Working with Fire & Flower, (alongside principal designer and award-winning artist Josh Harnack), I design and produced summary cards and a product legend for hundreds of cannabis strains.
Designing for such a novel, fascinating purchasing scenario (and in a brand new industry!) was a ton of fun. It involved adhering to government brand guidelines, organizing thousands of copies of finished products, and iterating on designs weekly (sometimes even daily).
One of my favourite parts of this project were the feedback we received from Fire & Flower and customers directly. It was gratifying, productive, and mutually beneficial to receive tangible feedback on how our products were being used and what we could do to iterate on their design.
Focus groups were a big part of making this happen. Prepping for, participating in, and reflecting on these focus groups was a highlight of the project! The human element of our design work was emphasized in a cool, engaging way.
